- Three programs: Little Keiki Learning Center (toddlers, 2), Preschool (3’s and 4’s) and Transitional Kindergarten (older 4’s and 5’s). Birth-date cutoffs are not published.
- No annual deadline: applications are accepted throughout the year, first come, first served. The first step is to call (808) 734-4277 to schedule a visit.
- Tuition 2026–27: $16,300 (Preschool), $17,800 (Transitional Kindergarten), $20,500 (toddlers); all full day, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Basic information
Which program can you apply for?
- Little Keiki Learning Center: toddlers, 2 years old.
- Preschool: 3- and 4-year-olds.
- Transitional Kindergarten: older 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds.
- The website gives only these age groups. It does not publish birth-date cutoffs or toilet-training rules — ask the director which program fits your child’s birth date.
How enrollment works
ApplicationVisit & interviewEnrollment
- Mail the paper application with the non-refundable $100 fee and a copy of your child’s birth certificate.
- The website does not give decision dates, a deposit deadline or waitlist rules — ask the office, which is open 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Because places are filled first come, first served, there is no deadline to wait for — the earlier you visit and apply, the better. Also, only full-day programs (8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., five days) are listed; families who want something shorter for a younger child can ask about the church’s separate Mom’s Time Off program, which meets two days a week.
Tuition and fees
- Tuition for 2026–27 (full day, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.): Little Keiki Learning Center $20,500; Preschool $16,300; Transitional Kindergarten $17,800.
- Early morning care (7:15 – 8:00 a.m.): $6 a day. For the monthly plan, the tuition page lists $100 a month, while the admissions page lists $1,000 a year (August – May) — confirm with the school.
- After-school enrichment (3:00 – 5:30 p.m.): $4,250 a year (August – May). A late fee applies after 5:30 p.m.; the amount is not listed.
- The application form lists a non-refundable $100 application fee and a non-refundable $650 tuition deposit, which is applied to tuition.
- The website does not mention financial aid — ask the director.
Applying from outside Hawaiʻi
- The website does not mention international families, visas or English requirements. The application form asks for the language spoken at home and the child’s English proficiency.
- Contact the preschool directly at (808) 734-4277 or director.preschool@waiokeola.org.
How Academia Tutor School can help
Waiokeola’s process includes a visit and an interview, and many families later move on to private kindergarten and elementary admissions. Our Private School Entrance Exam Prep program prepares children for the parts that are hard to practice at home: meeting new teachers, small-group activities, and the vocabulary and listening skills used in interviews and assessments. Lessons run Monday to Friday after school, private or in groups of up to five. In 2026, our students were admitted to 23 schools.
No tutoring program can promise admission, and we do not. Our goal is for your child to walk in calm and ready to show who they are.
