Which program can you apply for?
- St. Clement’s uses calendar-year birth dates: children must turn three, four or five by December 31 of the school year.
- Preschool 3: born January 1 – December 31, 2024 (52 spaces for 2027–28).
- Preschool 4: born January 1 – December 31, 2023 (10 spaces).
- Kindergarten: born January 1 – December 31, 2022 (5 spaces).
- Children must be toilet trained when they start school. Requests for exceptions to the age rules go in writing to the Director.

The deadline is only a week away (Oct. 31), and St. Clement’s will not process incomplete applications — send every document, not just the form. Places are then filled by a random drawing among children judged ready, based on student-teacher ratio and gender balance.
Tuition and fees
- Tuition for 2026–27 (August 2026 – May 2027): 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. $15,944; 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. $16,771; 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. $21,314; 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. $22,141.
- The family handbook lists an enrollment fee of $400 and a non-refundable acceptance deposit of $1,000.
- About 15% of students received financial assistance through the school this year. Financial aid must be requested at the time of registration.
Applying from outside Hawaiʻi
- St. Clement’s website does not mention international students, visas or English requirements — ask the admissions office directly.
- If you cannot attend the in-person tour, the school offers a virtual make-up tour (Dec. 21, 2026).

Many families move on from preschool to private kindergarten and elementary admissions. Our Private School Entrance Exam Prep program prepares children for the parts that are hard to practice at home: small-group activities, one-on-one interviews, and the vocabulary and listening skills used in assessments. Lessons run Monday to Friday after school, private or in groups of up to five. In 2026, our students were admitted to 23 schools.
