⚠︎ Two things families often miss

The SSAT is not required: applicants for Grades 6–12 can send standardized test scores from a test taken at their current school within the last two years, and take the SSAT (code 6274) only if they have no other scores. Students entering Grades 6, 7 or 9 in 2027–28 can also be considered for the Queen Emma Merit Scholarship — half tuition, and not based on financial need.

Tuition and financial aid

  • Tuition for 2026–27: $23,995 for Grades K–12; international students (K–12) $30,262. Preschool: $20,870 a year for the 2s class ($1,739.17 a month, June 2026 – May 2027) and $18,370 for the 3s and older.
  • Fees: non-refundable enrollment fee $600 (paid with the signed contract); preschool application fee $50. The K–12 application fee amount is not listed — the school offers a fee discount code by email. Payment plans cost $100 (semester) or $400 (monthly); the Tuition Refund Plan is 1.8% of tuition. Uniforms, a laptop and textbooks (Grades 7–12) are extra.
  • Discounts: military 10%, siblings 5%, Queen’s Health Systems employees 15%.
  • Financial aid is applied for through Clarity ($65 per household). New families apply by Feb. 15, 2027 — the K–12 timeline page says Feb. 16, so apply by Feb. 15 to be safe and confirm with the school. There is no school-based aid for preschool.
  • The average award was $10,865 in 2024–25. Members of Episcopal churches can apply for the $1,500 Foundation in Faith award.

Applying from outside Hawaiʻi

  • St. Andrew’s can issue a Form I-20 for an F-1 visa once the student is enrolled (signed contract, enrollment fee, proof of finances, and a host family or guardian, or the parents).
  • International applicants must submit the Duolingo English Test; the SSAT is optional. Admissions are in English and the school does not provide translation, though a translator may attend the interview.
  • There is no boarding, and the school does not provide homestay services. The website does not mention an ESL program or separate international deadlines.

How Academia Tutor School can help

Our Private School Entrance Exam Prep program prepares children for the parts of admission that are hard to practice at home: kindergarten assessments, interviews with an admissions committee, and the reading, vocabulary and math skills measured by standardized tests such as the SSAT. Lessons run Monday to Friday after school, private or in groups of up to five. In 2026, our students were admitted to 23 schools.

No tutoring program can promise admission, and we do not. Our goal is for your child to walk in calm and ready to show who they are.
