⚠︎ Two things families often miss

For Grades 6–12, Mid-Pacific asks for the Character Skills Snapshot (about 25 minutes, online), not the SSAT or ISEE — standardized test scores are needed only from homeschooled applicants. Families who live off-island can do the preschool and kindergarten sessions virtually, and Grades 6–12 interviews by Zoom.

Tuition and financial aid

  • Tuition for 2026–27: $33,315 for every grade, preschool through Grade 12.
  • In 2025–26 Mid-Pacific gave more than $6.5 million in financial aid; 32% of students received aid, with an average award of $14,600.
  • Financial aid applications from new applicants are due Dec. 15, 2026 (through Clarity). Most new families hear about aid in March 2027, together with the admission decision.
  • Mid-Pacific says financial aid is not available for preschool or for international students.

Applying from outside Hawaiʻi

  • F-1 visa: students who need a Form I-20 must upload a bank statement covering one year of tuition, fees and living expenses.
  • English tests (Grades 6–12): TOEFL, TOEFL Jr., Duolingo English Test, IELTS or iTEP Slate, taken within one year of applying.
  • English Language Development (ELD): support classes for international students in Grades 7–12 ($3,188 per course).
  • Mid-Pacific’s current website does not list a boarding program; the international form asks families about their living arrangements in Hawaiʻi.

How Academia Tutor School can help

Our Private School Entrance Exam Prep program prepares children for the parts of admission that are hard to practice at home: group assessments like Mid-Pacific’s Saturday sessions, one-on-one interviews, and the vocabulary, listening and reasoning tasks used in assessments. Lessons run Monday to Friday after school, private or in groups of up to five. In 2026, our students were admitted to 23 schools.

No tutoring program can promise admission, and we do not. Our goal is for your child to walk in calm and ready to show who they are.
