Which grades can you enter?

  • Parent Child class: for children under age 3 (12–35 months). Space is limited and filled on a first-paid, first-served basis.
  • Preschool (2, 3 or 5 days a week): children must be two by the time school starts. The admissions page says ages 2–4; the tuition sheet says ages 2–3.
  • Kindergarten (mixed-age, ages 4–6): children must be 4 years old by the start of the school year. The school does not publish an exact birth-date cutoff.
  • Grades 1–5: listed on the application page. The school teaches through Grade 8, but the admissions pages do not list Grades 6–8 — ask admissions whether those grades are open to new students for 2027–28.
  • The school welcomes new students throughout the year, as space permits. The homepage says applications are being accepted now and that some waitlists have already begun.

⚠︎ Two things families often miss

There is no posted 2027–28 deadline, but that does not mean there is plenty of time: admission is rolling and the school says some waitlists have already begun, so applying early matters. Also, financial aid runs on an earlier schedule than admission — the financial aid page gives a priority deadline of Dec. 15, 2026, while older text on the admissions page and the 2026–27 calendar say Feb. 28. Aim for Dec. 15 and confirm with the school.

Tuition and financial aid

  • Tuition for 2026–27: 5-day preschool $21,270; 3-day preschool $14,700; 2-day preschool $9,800; kindergarten $21,270; Grades 1–8 $23,625.
  • Fees: application $150 ($250 for international students); Tuition Protection Plan $500; FACTS enrollment fee $25 or $55; tuition deposit $1,000. Overnight trips in Grades 4–8 are billed separately.
  • Financial aid is need-based and merit-based, applied for through FACTS ($40 fee). For the coming year: returning families by Nov. 30, 2026; priority deadline Dec. 15, 2026; decisions in mid-January 2027.
  • To qualify for aid, the student must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. 2027–28 tuition is not posted yet.

Applying from outside Hawaiʻi

  • The tuition sheet lists a $250 application fee for international students, and states that tuition assistance is not available to international students.
  • The website does not mention F-1 visas, I-20s, boarding or English requirements — contact admissions@honoluluwaldorf.org.
  • If you cannot come to campus, the virtual open house is on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Grade-school applicants should plan for a school visit of up to three consecutive days.

How Academia Tutor School can help

Our Private School Entrance Exam Prep program prepares children for the parts of admission that are hard to practice at home: an applicant assessment, joining an unfamiliar class for a school visit of up to three days, and the listening and vocabulary skills teachers notice. Lessons run Monday to Friday after school, private or in groups of up to five. In 2026, our students were admitted to 23 schools.

No tutoring program can promise admission, and we do not. Our goal is for your child to walk in calm and ready to show who they are.
