With over 15 years of teaching experience at Academia, Larry Rhodes is an experienced English educator dedicated to helping students gain confidence and achieve meaningful progress.
He has taught a wide range of learners—from international students to children newly adjusting to life in Hawaii—and is known for his clear, structured, and encouraging lessons that make learning both accessible and enjoyable.
As Director of Language Programs at Academia Language School, Larry designs and supervises English curricula that combine research-based methodology with practical classroom experience.
He has also published articles on English teaching methodology in Hawaii TESOL’s professional journal, The Word, and continues to explore innovative and effective approaches to language education.
Having taught thousands of students, Larry believes that language learning is not only about mastering grammar and vocabulary but also about building confidence, expression, and cultural understanding.
Through his passion and expertise, he inspires every student to discover the joy of learning and to reach their full potential.
